Holden Production Reaches Seven Million

GM Holden has rolled its 7th millionth car, in their 60th anniversary as the local producer.
Red commodore sedan was unveiled with focus on the green energy solutions and the fuel efficiency, being fitted for fuel LPG.

Mr. Rod Keane (Executive Director of manufacturing) described it as a testimony to Holden’s capability to do well in a changing universal environment.

This is a proud day for every one of GM Holden’s 6,500 employees in Australia.
It says so much about us as one of this country’s largest manufacturing operations and most trusted brands.
The next chapter in our history will see us delivering a wide range of energy solutions to meet varying consumer needs and budgets.
I believe manufacturing the next million vehicles will be one of the most dynamic periods of GM Holden’s rich history.

The car was launched by Mr. Ben Chifley (PM).

Holden created Australia’s 1st mass car, the 48-215 in Novebmer’48 at the Fishermans Bend, Port Melbourne, Victoria.

Their 1 millionth car revealed in October’62.

Commodore was revealed in 1978 and is the best selling car in Australia.
